About

My name is Dongting Li (李东庭). I am currently a PostDoc at the University of California, San Diego co-advised by Prof. Nick Gravish and Prof. Mike T. Tolley. I earned my bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2018 from Shandong University, Weihai. Subsequently, I obtained both my MS and PhD in Systems Engineering from Arizona State University, under the supervision of Dr. Dan M. Aukes in the sunny Arizona.

My research interests include origami-inspired design, laminate-based manufacturing, granular media locomotion, lockable structures and ultimately, how to integrate all these to a functional system.

Outside of my professional life, I have a passion for working out, cooking, hiking, traveling, and photography. I am always on the lookout for the hidden beauty in our world. Admittedly, I am not adept at building personal websites, so please excuse any areas that are still under construction.
